Originally from Denmark, Birgitte is the inspiration behind the formation of SKD.   Concentrating mostly on design and on technical aspects of knitting and crochet. Birgitte and Bruce's family is completed by 12 year old twin girls and a black labrador called Freddie.

Bruce is a born and bred Yorkshireman, although he has lived in the South for longer than he can remember!    Having spent a lifetime working for a major American multinational company,  Bruce also doubles as a classical pianist,  ......  but agreed one day to help Birgitte pack and post orders.    Things have moved on since then, and Bruce now takes care of all Customer Service functions.

SKD is  based in Reading UK. We concentrate exclusively on Designs, Patterns, Yarns and accessories from Scandinavia and retail them, principally through this website to all countries throughout the world.  

We are also open to visitors ( by prior appointment please !) and you are welcome to come to visit us for "touchy feelies"  and to see the large range of yarns, and even larger range of colour shades we stock here.
